Seeing now everything about US “Empire of Lies”, including thanks to courageous Elon Musk and Twitter Files, it is beyond doubt that 2020 and 2022 elections were stolen..
US State press is paid to lie and must lick asses of their advertisers/controllers -- US arms industry and US fascist bipartisan War party.
I loved visiting North Dakota and that national park (which seemed pretty sparsely visited). I hope the library is a big success there -- I like the idea of the location but hope people will come see it.
The official presidential libraries didn't start until 1955 so older presidents like TR are sort of up for grabs...I think this is a very interesting effort and $$ are coming in. They have a great website and had a lot of buzz when they had the design competition. The $50 million this year should move it along. REALLY odd--the U.S. Grant Library is at the University of Mississippi. https://www.usgrantlibrary.org/
Per capita high plains people have a strong historical sense. TR’s story is fairly well known over a large segment of the pop. Certainly at one time everyone knew, though now it’s down to older adult males. . The vast, raw and lightly populated landscape exerts a presence of timelessness. How cool that a tiny burg like Medora gets to store TRs stuff. Sometimes good stuff happens!
This will be a beautiful memorial when it is ompleted. It deserves many visitors. I hope it will be well-publicized. So many Americans have never visited that part of the country.
When my father retired my mother wouldn't allow him to range around the house all day drinking coffee and reading the newspapers, so he went out and volunteered at Sagamore Hill, TR's home in Oyster Bay, Long Island, N.Y. He eventually became a Park Ranger and the resident expert on TR and his life.....
That is a terrific way to be retired. Park Rangers are more informed than historians. I wonder if there will be a connection between Oyster Bay and this North Dakota library.
Hopefully, what I remember when my father was on staff was that the people who worked at Sagamore were all very passionate about TR and the establishment of a presidential library would not go unnoticed. It's too bad they are so far removed from each other. The house at Sagamore was closed for a couple of years for a complete renovation, quite a bit of money was spent.
Thank you !!

Oh that IS really odd and I hadn’t heard that!
Odd but appropriate? Grant is Mississippi's biggest villain much as Sherman is Georgia's biggest villain. Of course, Sherman never became President.
The Badlands are a beautiful wilderness. What a perfect spot to honor the president who gave us our national parks!

Liked this. Would like to visit there!
Unfortunately the opening is likely to be on the same day that TR is replaced on Mount 'Rushmore by Leah Thompson.
That would be so strange.
