It's a sad commentary on modern life that even art is being used to defraud people and make money. There are so few institutions that we can trust anymore.

The book S. Anderson recommends in these comments, "The 12 Million Dollar Stuffed Shark: The Curious Economics of Contemporary Art," is a great source that examines this.
