Philip Roth, born in New Jersey, received many awards for his writing:
National Book Award Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters
Bruce Springsteen said of Roth:
'I'll tell you, those three recent books just knocked me on my ass,' the Boss replied. 'To be in his sixties making work that is so strong, so full of revelations about love and emotional pain, that's the way to live your artistic life. Sustain, sustain, sustain.' 1
Blake Bailey is the authorized biographer of Roth. The biography was published in 2021. W.W. Norton stopped shipping and promoting Blake Bailey's biography of Philip Roth following allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against the author by a number of women. 2 In his essay, “Book-burning comes to America,” David Walsh observed:
The attack on Bailey is unprecedented since the dark days of McCarthyism, when the US government removed thousands of books by left-wing authors and sympathizers from its overseas libraries. 3

Wow. What a story this was. The readers at Slate are applauding WW Norton's decision to permanently "out of print" Bailey's books. What a creeper that Bailey is. But I don't see what his books have to do with being a serial creeper and alleged rapist.
