The library felt gloomy, though perhaps experience tainted by association with 1980s Habitat black ash. The Hen Run the only joyous part of that building, unbound by North Light.
Of all the architects and designers I love, I love Charles Rennie Macintosh the very most. I’m not sure what it is--maybe the combination of organized parallel lines with natural wood and flower motifs--but his work just fills me with joy. What a loss to the world that fire was. I’m glad they’re rebuilding.

I am glad it is being rebuilt. It sounds like a beautiful building. It would be a shame to lose it.
