Fine article. Sometime ago I discovered Wayback doesn’t capture SubStack articles unless requested. So this important archive is missing a lot.

It was the obvious censorship on Twitter that led to me (and many others) to discover SubStack. Most media seems biased so I find a balance on SubStack. The comments are also often decent information.

You are right. The Substack essays are like May flies for the most part. Every few months I download what I post so I have a record.

I am more worried about local support of libraries. "If I want a book, I get it on Amazon." or "Why should we pay so much for a librarian when anyone can check out books." Everything is on the Internet". People need to learn what it takes to be a librarian and how they quietly educate the public.

Took a quick skim - this is excellent. Congratulations to both of you. More to follow.

It would be wonderful if you would post at the Heterodoxy site. Thank you.

So, I looked. I enjoyed your essay very much and find myself in agreement with many of the posts available at the Heterodoxy site. My interests, however, lie largely in the past and I much prefer research to explication.

That you and your pals are right I hope will win the day. My general position on social interactions, however, for a long time has been: expect more of the same, only worse. I'd love to be proved wrong.

On a personal level I'm a complete Polly-Anna. I think the world a wonderful place and has never been better. Most are just too dumb to recognize how fortunate we are. Thanks for the kind thoughts and words. Keep up the great work!

I took a web archiving class at USF in 2012-13 because my interest was Technology and Librarianship. Librarians in higher education now know that digital is here to stay and much more cost effective. You just have to look at NC State. They built a state-of-the-art library in 2013. Ten years on it still is on the right track. https://www.lib.ncsu.edu/hunt
