I loved the images.

P.S. I just read the part of DTAMOT in which General Conyers uses Jung to analyze Widmerpool and his "difficulties" with his erstwhile bride to be.

You made it through the sort of awful chapter in France? I like the way that AP does use what was current--Jung and Conyers. To us it seems a long time ago, but when he as writing it wasn't. I think Widmerpool is one of the greatest characters in literature.

I'm a tennis player so could at least relate to the tennis drama between the Scandinavians.

Now I'm in the company of the musical people plus Deacon in a flashback.

I feel as if this is the first time I have some reading mastery over this work. Third time a charm? Time shifts and multiple character introductions at once are a challenge.

Same. I am not sure why I kept going back. But glad I did. It's very perceptive. Also such a different point of view on things. I am really liking that you like it. I know one else e(except the member of the AP society, but they are experts).

Took me a while to get those flashbacks.

Almost no one has read Dance to the Music of Time's 12 volumes. I actually came to it when I read a biography of George Orwell and learned that Anthony Powell has been the one to arrange GO's funeral. He's not very well known in the U.S. but he's worth a look. He covers the time from 1914-abt 1960s.
