I never knew. I tried a search for "Naughty ladies in heels" I got referred to a review of a movie about a misbehaving nurse who heals patients with a shoe fetish. I think I need a better surch injun.
I scrolled through them and laughed so hard. T of the S--the cover creator has got to be high. I have noticed that there are lots of public domain books being published so a searcher in amazon can get some very odd versions of anything out of copyright. And yes, Sons and Lovers--what??? I am trying to imagine a casual buyer getting one of these and finding out that Fall of the Roman Empire doesn't include naughty ladies in heels.
Maybe the Roman Empire fell because of naughty ladies in heels. ;)
These specimens are the work of someone who has an extremely recondite sense of humor; is high (as you note); or is a malfunctioning AI. It could be 1 to 3 of the above.
Honorable mention: https://tinyurl.com/3z2zp4pt If I had never read Wodehouse, I would think from this that he was Jack Vance. Not that there's anything wrong with Jack Vance!
I hadn't seen that one. I was innocently looking for a nice cover of Decline when I found the high-heels lady cover and there goes the weekend. I would like a job there at Sheba. Who are these people? And do they make money?

It is extremely tough to pick a favorite among the Sheba Blake covers, but for me it's a toss-up between The Turn of the Screw (https://tinyurl.com/4ecj5k4u) and Sons and Lovers (https://tinyurl.com/4tw44rkd).
Some of them actually work! https://tinyurl.com/f2n4nsdr

The caustic cover critic down in Australia is a great find. I think Woodhouse would like that cover.
Thank you for destroying my previously feeble productivity altogether.

Is it inadvertent dada or advertent dada? Does it matter?

"Who are these people? And do they make money?"
These are the pertinent questions of our era.
I'm dying over here.

and it's a bolt but hey Sheba doesn't care. This is hilarious.
