The War in Ukraine is just a haze. The ways people tracked and knew the vessels in WWII so different. I was surprised so much was in archives about the Bismark. I can't think of one ship in the Ukraine now.
The Consortium Imposing the Growing Censorship Regime -- and Our New Live, Prime-Time Rumble Program – Glenn Greenwald - Oct. 28, 2022
We are launching a new live, one-hour, prime-time news broadcast. Armed with cable-sized budgets, it will be part of a network that Russell Brand has already debuted.
Thank you Kathleen for providing such a realistic portrayal of what faced British and German sailors during the second world war.
I was but an infant when the Bismark was sunk. My father landed on the beaches at Normandy.
He could never talk to me about his service during the war, until I came home after being discharged.
Perhaps he did not want to recall the carnage he witnessed when I was growing up.
My having served four years during the cold war may have allowed him to talk about his service, if only because he knew I was now an adult and a veteran.
To this day, Kathleen, I continue to be drawn to the history of WW2, and the suffering of so many people.
I'm reading a long bio. of Winston Churchill and the chapter on the Bismark was so detailed..it made me think how today we don't know the names of the ships. So, I went looking and found so much. Honestly, do not know how anyone in England could ever be friends with a German after the blitz.
My first wife came to the U.S. to study for a degree in dental hygiene.
I learned early on in our life together that there remains a large percentage of the citizens in the Nederlands continue to reveal a large dose of animosity towards Germans.
I lost my wife in 2004., but found yet another wonderful lady who was willing to put up with the curmudgeon who lived within my brain.
I remain in contact with her surviving relatives in Europe. The younger generation seems to have little or no exposure to the horrors of WW2.
I've always been fascinated by sea battles. This pulls together more than I've seen elsewhere on the Bismark.

An EXTRAORDINARY good news !!
