Liberace! is a blog post at the Milwaukee Public Library.
Wladziu Valentino Liberace was born in West Allis on May 16, 1919. A veritable child prodigy on the piano, he was already performing classical concerts in his teen years but soon put together an act that included pop, showtunes, boogie-woogie and his own unique flash. By the 1950s he had his own television show and was a top-flight celebrity around the country. He performed concerts all over the world, demonstrating an incredible mastery of his instrument and an outsized stage presence beloved by his fans.
There is a librarian site called “Awful Library Books.” One highlighted was Liberace Cooks!: Hundreds of Delicious Recipes For You from His Seven Dining Rooms. (1970).
Here is Liberace “Feeling Groovy.”
One of my regrets in life is not making it to the Liberace Museum in Las Vegas before it closed. Although I guess it's kind of still view-able. https://liberace.org/liberace-museum-collection/
Cmon, Kathleen, I wake up, watch Liberace singing "Feelin Groovy" in that crazy outfit, how is the rest of my day gonna get any better!??!
