National Typewriter Day is is observed on June 23rd. It commemorates the patenting of the first typewriter on that day in 1868 by Wisconsin inventor, Christopher Latham Sholes.

June 14 is not a good day for this event as there will be more protests than ever on that day nationwide ...
I miss the feel and sound of all things mechanical, from the tcha-tcha sound of older car engines to the clickety clack of manual typewriters. I still have my old galaxy portable typewriter, though I doubt they still make ribbons for it.
